Description |
Students at St. Paul's School, probably in 1912. Several of the students are named on the verso, although some of the names are difficult to read. Those named include: Elizabeth Grogan (later Mrs. Joseph Kreifer), first seated on the left; Mary McCloskey; Father Lahey; Nelly Lynch; Helen Foley; John Golden[?]; and Fran Krieger. St. Paul's parish was established in 1850. The school was originally located in the church basement at 182 Nassau Street, then moved with the church to 214 Nassau Street. In 1880, St. Paul's parish constructed a separate school building at 218 Nassau Street. A new school building was built in 1930. |
