Memorial Inscription at Holder Hall, Princeton University. The inscription reads: "Holder Hall / Named in honor of Christopher Holder a member of the Society of Friends in America in the Seventeenth Century devout - loving - loyal to duty - patient in suffering. For this Hall and Tower Princeton University is indebted to his descendent Margaret Olivia Sage - 1909." Holder Hall, built in 1909-1910, was designed by the Philadelphia architectural firm Day and Klauder. The dormitory was named for Christopher Holder, an ancestor of the donor, Margaret Olivia Sage, widow of Russell Sage. |
