Witherspoon Hall, Princeton University, in 1926. Witherspoon Hall was designed by William A. Potter and Robert H. Robertson and was completed in 1877. It was built as a luxurious dormitory catering to wealthy students; Woodrow Wilson was one of the first residents. The western tower was removed in the 1940s after sustaining storm damage. The dormitory was extensively renovated in 1974 and again in 2002-2003. It was named for the sixth president of Princeton University, John Witherspoon. |
