Description |
The Farr Hardware Company, also called "The Corner Store," at the corner of Nassau and Mercer Streets. Among other items, the store sold housewares, agricultural implements, and seeds. This photo dates to the period between 1905 and 1913, when Harry Farr owned the store. Previously, the store had been Vanderwater's Hardware. The building was torn down in 1913 to make way for the Battle Monument; however, the Battle Monument was located elsewhere and a WWI Memorial constructed on this site instead. |
