Description |
The Andrew Fleming West House, now at 301 Nassau Street on the corner of Princeton Avenue. This photograph shows the house c. 1905 at its original site on Prospect Avenue at the corner of Washington Road. The house was built by Andrew Fleming West, became the Campus Club, and then was purchased and moved by Moses Taylor Pyne to 301 Nassau Street in July, 1909. |

In pencil on back of photo: J-18 5 Prospect Avenue. The house of Prof Andrew F. West later Dean of the Graduate College. Mr M Taylor Pyne purchased the house (only) and moved it to 301 Nassau Street - presenting it to Princeotn Univeristy (the Campus Club was erected on the site) It was sold in 18__ to Mrs Williams who gave it to her duaghter. Mrs. ____ Baird and now it is owned by her son M. Alfred Clarne S. Baird who turned it into eight apartments. On the left is a glimpse of the hosue of Prof Harry B. Fine which was moved to 291-293 Nassau Street - and turned into apartments by the Misses MacIntosh.
