Description |
Gardens of Guernsey Hall, 63 Lovers Lane, on the corner of Mercer Street. This view of the gardens closely resembles A_9_i_004, and can probably be dated to the same season: May 1914. Guernsey Hall was previously known as "Fieldwood" and "Woodlawn." Designed by John Notman for the owner, Richard Stockton Field, circa 1850. Extensive renovations were done in 1912 by the architectural firm Cross and Cross. Allan Marquand, founder of the Princeton University department of Art and Archaeology, aquired the house in 1887. |
