Ross, tinsmith was a long time resident of Princeton and lived at 132 Mercer Street (which he may very well have built) from about 1881 on. He first appeared as the tenant of 36 Alexander St. in the 1901 directory. 36 Alexander St. 1903 Jan 31, 1891 SM Ross moved into tinshop belonging to Slayback on Canal St (Alex) lower floor / upper still used by Stillwell for lumber storage 1982: 34-36 Alexander St. Now this is the site of the Seminary's Payne Hall apartments. In 1891 Samuel Ross moved into the tinshop belonging to Mr. Slayback on Canal St. (Alexander) [Other side of mounting board has only glue marks, no writing; not scanned] |
