Maclean House, 79 Nassau Street. Maclean House was built in 1756 by Robert Smith as a residence for presidents of the College of New Jersey (Princeton University). Ten presidents lived in the house: Aaron Burr, Sr.; Jonathan Edwards; Samuel Davies; Samuel Finley; John Witherspoon; Samuel S. Smith; Ashbel Green; James Carnahan; John Maclean, Jr.; and James McCosh. The building then housed the first deans of the faculty and was known as the Dean's House.
